TV Companion
Terms of service
Effective date: July 7, 2026
These terms govern your use of TV Companion, a macOS menu bar app that turns your TVs on and off with your Mac, published by MacLucky Lab (mac-lucky), an independent developer based in Poland. By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. TV Companion is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple, LG, Roku, Sony, or Samsung.
License
TV Companion is licensed, not sold. Your use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the standard EULA that applies to apps downloaded from the App Store; these terms add to it and, where they conflict for this app, control. You may use TV Companion for personal or internal business purposes on any Mac you own or control.
Your responsibilities
TV Companion controls televisions on your local network using Wake-on-LAN and each brand's control protocol. Use it only with TVs you own or are authorized to control. You are responsible for the IP addresses, pairing keys, and settings you enter.
No warranty and liability
TV Companion is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. It depends on your network, on your TVs' firmware, and on features such as Wake-on-LAN and IP control being enabled on the TV, so it does not guarantee that a television will turn on, turn off, or pair.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MacLucky Lab is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for anything that happens to your televisions, displays, or network. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer-protection rights in the EU/EEA.
Trademarks
LG and webOS are trademarks of LG Electronics. Roku is a trademark of Roku, Inc. Bravia is a trademark of Sony. Samsung and Tizen are trademarks of Samsung Electronics. TV Companion uses these names only to describe the televisions it works with.
Privacy
TV Companion collects no data. See the privacy policy for the details.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Poland. EU/EEA consumers keep any mandatory protections of their country of residence.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the latest version is always posted here, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions: [email protected].
